A former Nigerian pepper hawker has taken to her Facebook account to give a testimony of how she turned her life around to become a Ph.D. holder in University of Saskatchewan, Canada.
The lady identified as Ade Ola gave a narration of how she hawked pepper due to the financial difficulties of her family.
The Ph.D. holder said that she obtained a second class upper in her first degree which gave way to a higher education abroad.
She travels for her M.Sc degree in Finland where she had to work as a cleaner to make ends meet.
On completion of her Master’s degree, she got three full scholarships and eventually chose the University of Saskatchewan in Canada.
There, she became the first black person to bag a Ph.D. in Biochemical Engineering.
