The teacher said his life has been ruined by the claims he indecently assaulted three 11-year-old girls at a school in Auckland, New Zealand.
Primary schoolchildren have admitted they lied about their teacher sexually abusing them to get him fired.
The pupils claimed he ‘stroked’ their hair in an indecent manner, swiped his hand over their chest and grabbed the breasts of another victim, Stuff NZ reports.
When the case came to trial, however, one of the pupils admitting lying to police about seeing the teacher inappropriately touch another girl.
But she did maintain that the teacher, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had touched her.
But the court found no evidence of collusion between the students, with two other girls continuing to claim the teacher had indecently assaulted them.
The teacher said there was major falling out in the classroom between himself and the students in March last year.
In court, his lawyer said the children hatched a plan to get him fired after the incident.
‘When the verdict was announced I was stunned, relieved and angry that my elderly parents, family and friends had to go through the trauma of a year of hell,’ the teacher told the New Zealand Herald.
‘Only through the support of colleagues, friends and family were I able to continue with the semblance of a ”normal” life.’
