Thousands of mourners attended the funeral of former Arsenal star Jose Antonio Reyes, who will be put to rest this Monday.
Reyes’ coffin was carried through the streets of his hometown of Utrera in Sevilla ahead of his funeral, after the footballer died on Saturday.
Reyes was killed when his Mercedes hit concrete blocks by the side of the motorway near the town of Alcala de Guadaira before overturning and bursting into flames.
The ex-Arsenal forward will be buried after a service at Santa Maria Church in Utrera, which started at 9.30am.
Reyes’ coffin was initially taken to Sevilla football club between the hours of 4pm and 9pm on Sunday. The coffin was later taken to the town hall for an overnight wake.
