Ronaldinho Passport Held As Court Finds Just £5 In His Bank Account

A Brazilian judge has ordered Ronaldinho’s passport to be confiscated as the former Barcelona forward has failed to pay off his £1.7 million debt. In 2015, Ronaldinho and his brother Roberto Assis were fined for environmental damage after they built a property with a fishing platform without the required permits in Porto Alegre. Ronaldinho and his brother have yet to pay the fine which has reached a total of £1.7m. The Rio Grande do Sul court has now ordered the seizure of Ronaldinho’s passport and attempted to reclaim some of the debt but found just £5 in his bank account. The Brazilian already has dual nationality as he was granted a Spanish passport during his time at Barcelona in 2007.
