The Queen will be the first member of the royal family to meet Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s baby today when she visits the new family at Frogmore cottage.
The 93-year-old monarch is said to be “overjoyed” for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at the birth of their first child.
The Queen yesterday accepted congratulations from a Windsor Castle guest who asked: “Life is good for Your Majesty?”
The Queen, who was joined by the Duke of Edinburgh during a lunch for members of the Order of Merit, replied: “Yes, thank you.”
It is not yet clear whether Prince Philip will make the trip to Frogmore Cottage alongside his wife today.
The Duke of Edinburgh attended a public engagement with The Queen yesterday for the first time since his car crash earlier this year.
