Members of a Mexican drugs alliance painted seven victims as a range of superheroes and paraded them naked through the streets, according to reports.
The six men and one woman were painted as well-known characters including Spiderman, Iron Man, Captain Marvel and Black Panther.
They were then apparently forced to walk around in public in the historical centre of Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico.
People who spotted them thought they were witnessing parts of the film ‘Avengers Endgame’ being acted out.
But it was the allegedly members of the ‘Northeast Cartel’ who had forced the victims through the streets, Vanguardia reports.
