Sanwo-Olu’s statement follows the spike in the case of COVID-19 in Lagos and other states in Nigeria.
The statement reads:
“Dear Lagosians, you will all agree with me that we cannot afford another lockdown of the economy.
Amidst an economic recession we must find a way to delicately balance the imperatives of life and livelihood.”
The Lagos state governor said the current figure has does not require prompt lockdown but
reiterated that there must be strict compliance with the preventive protocols.
He also warned that the state government will not tolerate anyone who do not obey the law and that
such person or organization will face the consequences.
