After protest, Super Falcons receive bank alerts


Players of the Nigeria’s Super Falcons have confirmed the receipt of payment in the sum of N4.8 Million Naira by the country’s football authority after winning the 2016 African Women Cup of Nations championship in Cameroon.

Super Falcons explained that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) had refused to pay them their entitlements which forced them to embark on a protest in Abuja before Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari order for the payments of all their wages.

The players however said that they have received the sum of N4.8 million claiming that the amount was meant for their triumph at the 2016 African Women Cup of Nations.

”Yes, they have paid us N4.8 million each which is just for winning the AWCON, but they have not paid us the money for the qualifiers,” a player who would not want her name on print stated.
