Speaking through the Department of Health and Social Care’s official Twitter account, Good Morning Britain’s resident health expert Dr Hilary advised those not in the high-risk group on how to manage the condition at home .
“If you are experiencing the common symptoms of the coronavirus – a high temperature and a new and continuous cough – here’s some important advice,” he began.
One, drink lots of water,” he said.
“Two, use over-the-counter medicines like paracetamol to help with some of your symptoms. Make sure you follow instructions on the pack,” he added.
“Three, take care of your mind as well as your body. Stay in touch with family and friend by phone and video calls and on social media.”
